10 things you probably don't know about the Oscars (2014)
Martin Scorsese’s ‘The wolf of wall street’, is the movie with the most swearing in it (the word f*ck is repeated more than 500 times throughout the whole movie). The previous movie with a similar record is Goodfellas (Martin Scorsese 1990).
American Hustle is the 15th movie in the Oscar awards history which is nominated in every category that involves acting performances. The director David O’Rushell has done it twice (Silver Linings Playbook 2012).
Barkhad Abdi nominated for second best actor (Captain Phillips) was working as a limo driver when the director of the movie Paul Greengrass discovered him and suggested the role.
Bruce Dern waited for 35 years to be nominated again. His first time was with the deer hunter (1978).
Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallée (Dallas Buyers Club) is not nominated as best director for his film but for film editing with the pseudonym John McMurphy.
